Mission

Mission Website

St Saviour's has an active and comprehensive programme of mission both in the local community and throughout the world.

MISSION @ St Saviour's

St Saviour's has a calling to be a community for mission - devoted to God, each other and a broken world. We seek not to live for ourselves but, in word and deed, and in fellowship with God's people around the world, to proclaim the Gospel of God's love in Christ.

We believe that mission starts on our doorstep and extends to the "ends of the earth". Accordingly we are concerned to respond in love and action in our local community, in our nation and across the world. Many members of our congregation have a personal interest in a mission initiative elsewhere in the world.

We encourage people to develop these interests whilst corporately, we develop particular partnerships with a more limited number of churches and organisations. Partnership is a key concept for us - committing us to work with other Christians and Churches in their mission calling, and receiving the benefit of their wisdom and experience in our own responses in our community.

The Mission Pastor (Andy Wheeler) and the Mission Ministry Group (chair Mike Gercke) oversee and develop our mission engagement, with a particular interest in the care of our mission partners.

If you would like to read the St Saviour's Mission Partnership Policy, governing its practice both locally and around the world, copies can be obtained from the Mission Ministry Group through the St Saviour's Office.
