Our Story

Our Story Website

At St Saviour’s our congregation has been drawn together from Guildford and beyond: committed Christians seeking a clear focus on biblical preaching and vibrant & varied worship. We are blessed by having a congregation spanning all the generations, and historically have attracted families and students through particularly focussed ministries. We seek to equip each member to become a mature disciple of Christ and witness in all areas of their life; at home, in the workplace, when studying and in the wider community.

We are diverse in terms of evangelical spirituality, without being polarised. We come from a variety of denominational backgrounds and traditions. We welcome all to join in exploring what being a disciple of Jesus could mean for them. We are global in outlook, supporting over twenty mission partners together with a range of mission organisations throughout the world in prayer, through practical assistance, and financially.

On Sundays we generally have four services - two in the morning, and two in the evening service (see Sunday Services for exceptions). All services enjoy a band-led worship style (incorporating use of our organ at the 9am service) and making creative use of audio-visual media. At major festivals we gather a classical choir and orchestra for variety and creativity.

Midweek, the Centre thrives as a busy staff workplace and base for church gatherings. We encourage lettings to community groups and local businesses who can enjoy fully equipped conference facilities with a hospitality service. Midweek evenings usually have several meetings taking place concurrently when the reception area is invariably staffed by volunteers. We also offer a wide range of courses including The Marriage Course, Divorce and Separation Recovery and Christian Listening, as well as hosting many other events and courses organised by other Christian groups and churches. The Centre is often quieter on Saturdays, apart from occasional seminars or private functions.

We invite you to come in and ask more during the week, or to join one of our Sunday services. We know it can sometimes feel daunting the first time, but we have a special welcome team on hand to ensure you feel just that – welcomed!
