Christmas is nearly upon us!

With only a few weeks until the season starts, here is all you need to know about services at St. Saviour’s this festive period.

Christmas Services & Events

Women’s Christmas Market | Fri 26th Nov at 7:30pm

Join us for a fabulous evening of making crafts, buying presents, drinking mulled wine and eating yummy Christmassy nibbles. The live jazz band will get us in the festive spirit and the church will look beautiful. This event is open to all women aged 14+.

This year, getting tickets in advance is necessary to attend the Women’s Christmas Market.

Family Carols | Sun 12th Dec at 10:30am

A family fun Christmas carol service! Come along with your small shepherds, angels, animals, Marys, Josephs, wise men & women, to our service – full of Christmas games, crafts and celebration. This service will be suitable for children of all ages – 0-99 – and will last for approximately 45 minutes.


Contemporary Carols | Sun 12th Dec at 6pm

We would love you to join us on this merry evening as we sing carols led by our fantastic band and hear a wonderful Christmas message! This will replace the normal 6pm evening service. Please note that there will be no children’s provision at this service, but all are welcome.


Communion Service | Sun 19th Dec at 9am

Come along to our last 9am service of the year, enjoy some of your favourite carols and a chance to take Communion together.

Please note that there will be no children’s provision at this service, but all are welcome.


Traditional Carols | Sun 19th Dec at 4pm & 7pm

Our Traditional Carol services this year are not to be missed! Our St. Saviour’s Christmas choir and orchestra, conducted by the wonderful Jonathan Veira will lead carols, alongside traditional Bible readings and a short talk. Our 4pm service will be family friendly, and we’d love to see you there. We would love for you to invite friends to one of our two services, (which will also be live streamed) as we once again prepare to celebrate Christmas together!


Christmas Café | Tue 21st & Thur 23rd Dec at 2pm

A fun-filled drop in time of Christmas craft-making for families with children of all ages. Each day will include different craft activities for families to enjoy and create together alongside some hot chocolates. £2 per child, click here to sign up for Tuesday and click here to sign up for Thursday!


Christingle | Fri 24th Dec at 4pm

Our Christingle service is open to all with a special welcome to families with 0-11 year old children. It will be informal, interactive and full of Christmas cheer, led by our Children’s Pastor, Megan. This service will last approximately 45 minutes!


Midnight Communion | Fri 24th Dec at 11pm

It’s always busy at St. Saviour’s on the night before Christmas. Come and join us for a joyous and reflective late night service as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, take communion together, see in the next morning and be the first to wish each other a Merry Christmas.


Christmas Communion | Sat 25th Dec at 8am

A traditional communion service for the earlybirds on Christmas morning. This service will last about 45 minutes.  Please note there will be no children’s provision at this service.


Christmas Celebration | Sat 25th Dec at 10:30am

Come and join us as we celebrate Christmas Day together. This service is for all ages and will include carols and a short talk as well as lots of festive fun! Please note, there will be no children’s groups running during the service, as our morning Christmas celebration is designed for all ages and a perfect opportunity to celebrate together as the Big Family.

All of our Christmas services will be live streamed and available to watch at anytime after on our YouTube channel. We’d love you to join us!

Accessibility: All our services benefit from level access and a hearing loop.

Church Centre: The church centre will be closed between Thursday 23rd December and Saturday 1st January inclusive. During this time, there will be an out of hours phone service for pastoral emergencies, details of which are available in the 23rd December edition of Happening.
