Meals For You

As a church, we have a desire to benefit our local community and show the love of Jesus in tangible, practical ways.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, we have supported our parish with food deliveries, medicine drop-offs and phone calls as well as other pastoral support. We have taken this a step further and now provide meals; through our new initiative, Meals for You.    We are using our wonderful facilities, volunteers and resources to cook freshly cooked meals and distribute them each Thursday to those facing difficulties in our local community.

How can I help?

This initiative started at the beginning of November and the number of meals delivered has increased week on week.  We are now cooking and delivering over 100 meals each week, through a team of 40 volunteers.   As we expect the number of deliveries to increase, we will need more volunteers.

We are looking for packers, delivery drivers and kitchen assistants to help on Thursdays, so contact us on mealsforyou@stsaviours.org or 07377 286646 and join the team!

If you are unable to volunteer on a Thursday but would like to be involved there are other ways you can help.

Look out for Ingredient of the Week by checking Happening.  Donations of the items can be brought to church on a Sunday, and left in the box in the church entrance.

We would also love you to join us in praying for this project –  that it would bless those we deliver to and that we would be able to offer more meals as the weeks go by.

If you feel able to give financially to assist with the costs of the project you can do so by  clicking here. Any donations will be gratefully received to allow us to benefit those in our local community.

Gifts for You – Buckets of Love

The first project completed under the “Gifts for you” banner was given the name “Buckets of Love”. Intended to bless and thank all sixty members of the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Surrey County Hospital at Valentine’s 2021 when each member of the team received a bucket full of caring gifts.
