Meals For You

As a church, we have a desire to benefit our local community and show the love of Jesus in tangible, practical ways.

During the pandemic, Meals for You was established to provide support for those in our local community who were facing difficulties. We are using our church facilities, volunteers and resources to prepare freshly cooked meals and distribute them each Thursday. As well as meal support, we are now offering cooking courses in conjunction with Foodwise, showing participants how to cook healthy low cost meals.

This initiative started at the beginning of November 2020 and the number of meals delivered has increased week on week. As well as supporting individuals and families with 6-12 weeks of meal support, we are also providing meals to local homeless organisations and hostels. We are cooking and delivering over 100 meals each week, through a team of 40 volunteers.

How can I help?

We have a team of packers, delivery drivers and kitchen assistants who help on Thursdays. If you would like to be involved, contact us on mealsforyou@stsaviours.org or 07377 286646 and join the team!

If you are unable to volunteer on a Thursday but would like to be involved there are other ways you can help.

Look out for Ingredient of the Week by checking Happening.  Donations of the items can be brought to church on a Sunday, and left in the box in the church entrance.

We would also love you to join us in praying for this project –  that it would bless those we deliver to and that we would be able to offer more meals as the weeks go by.

If you feel able to give financially to assist with the costs of the project you can do so by clicking here. Any donations will be gratefully received to allow us to benefit those in our local community.
